In Baroque à la Folk, Black Pencil dives into the intriguing connections between Baroque music and the rich traditions of folk music from various cultures. A program sparkling with virtuosity, emotion, and surprises.\nFolk-inspired music has always been an endless source of inspiration for Black Pencil. The ensemble is drawn to the expressive power of folk elements: sometimes complex, raw, and powerful; other times subtle, soft, and beautifully simple. In Baroque à la Folk, the five musicians use their wide array of instruments to celebrate how folk music not only influenced the Baroque masters, but continues to fascinate and move audiences today. It takes you on a musical voyage of discovery, where two worlds go hand in hand and boundaries fade.\nLet yourself be surprised by the versatility and perfect harmony of Baroque and folk during this concert program. Experience the fusion of these cultures, together with ensemble Black Pencil.\nLand Art in Vlissingen\nSpecially for the concert in Vlissingen, pieces written for Land Art artworks will be added to the program. These include the work ‘Tij’ (‘Tide’) by Celia Swart, who was born and raised in Vlissingen, as well as new works by Anthony Fiumara and Renske Vrolijk.\n
