Victoria Vita Polevá: No Man Is an Island
After its performance in the legendary Carnegie Hall, Kyivska Camerata will repeat the same program for Kyiv listeners. It presents the works of composers that demonstrate a slice of Ukrainian music of recent decades – bright, original, unique.
Among the works performed are the expressive virtuoso Violin Concerto by Zubytskyi, the fragile Melody of Skoryk, the original Concerto Rutheno by Kozarenko, in which there is an amalgamation of romantic expressiveness, modern impulse, Hutsul motifs and the composer’s postmodern mask, music by favorites Stankovich, Sylvestrov, Poleva, as well as Almashi’s poignant piece, dedicated to the events in Mariupol – “City of Mary”.
