Jeroen & Sandra van Veen play Simeon ten Holt

In 2023, the Dutch composer Simeon ten Holt would have turned 100. For this occasion, Sandra & Jeroen van Veen will perform his most famous work: Canto Ostinato. The composer preferred their performance to the other existing piano versions. In 2016 Sandra and Jeroen van Veen even received a 10 x Golden Record. Over 100,000 CDs of their versions of Canto Ostinato have been sold; a unique one.

Sandra and Jeroen van Veen were very close with Simeon ten Holt. Wilma de Rek wrote a biography about the composer in 2012. In Canto Ostinato, in memoriam Simeon ten Holt, De Rek interviews the duo Van Veen at the wings, while they illustrate their answers with fragments from Ten Holt’s work; from Canto Ostinato and Aphorism II.
