Kris Oelbrandt: Hineni

Saint Dominic used to pray, according to a medieval text, in nine different body postures: bowing, kneeling, prosternating etc. ‘Hineni’ (Hebrew for ‘Here I am’) is an instrumental translation, commissionned by the Dominican convent Zwolle, of these body postures into music. Nine music meditations about living in Gods presence: how can we even possibly stand, bow or lie before such greatness?
