In the “Room of Encounter” program, the New Music Ensemble Aachen presents works by composers from conflict-affected countries side by side. The concert is part of the festival Freiraume 2024. The aim is to create a free sound space in which these works encounter the audience and themselves, far away from exclusion and political and ideological instrumentalization.

The event aims to set an example for the importance of artistic freedom. Works will be presented by: Khadija Zeynalova – Azerbaijan, Narine Khachatryan – Armenia, Olga Rayeva – Russia, Ludmila Yurina – Ukraine.

The world premiere of a new work by Marc Vogler will be heard from the country of the “room host”, Germany.
