As part of Fasten Seat Belts! Celebrating Luc Brewaeys, the mini-exhibition “Musical Thoughts of Luc Brewaeys” is being held. The orchestra was Luc Brewaeys’ playground. Its scale and the endless palette of tone colours constantly stimulated his imagination. More than anything, he loved to let as much be heard at once as possible. His scores reflect that enthusiasm: with impeccable handwriting, he filled the staves with hundreds of tiny, dancing notes.

In this mini-exhibition, you will discover Brewaeys’ eight symphonies and opera through the notes behind the music. This exhibition is a production of MATRIX [Centre for New Music], commissioned by the Luc Brewaeys Foundation.
