Victoria Vita Poleva: Liebesbotschaft

“Ave” is like a bridge connecting the past and the present.

Ukrainian violinist Myroslava Kotorovych and pianist Milda Umbrusevičiūtė, who has delighted listeners at the Music Magic Club many times, have prepared a sensitive program based on the music of J. S. Bach and F. Schubert – masterpieces whose connection with the listener remains alive to this day. However, this evening they will not be alone: alongside them – works by contemporary Ukrainian composers, directly related to the ideas of the great masters.

Valentin Silvestrov’s three-part miniatures “Hommage à J. S. Bach” subtly echo the spirit of the baroque genius, speaking of the greatness of the past with a modern sound. Meanwhile, Victoria Poleva, inspired by F. Schubert’s song “Liebesbotschaft”, creates a work of the same name, in which the aesthetics of romanticism merges with the sensitivity and unexpected characters of contemporary music.

“This concert is a sensitive, emotionally charged journey, where time-tested classics and their echoes in the present – in the contemporary work of Ukrainian composers – will intertwine,” the performers say.

Program:

J. S. Bach- C. Gounod Ave Maria

V. Silvestrov Hommage à J.S.B.: Andantino, Andantino, Andante ( Dedication to J.S. Bach)
