Composer Luc Brewaeys passed away on December 18, 2015. With his death, the Belgian music scene lost one of its most personal and original voices. To ensure that his music receives the lasting attention it deserves, the Luc Brewaeys Foundation was established. Its mission is to preserve Brewaeys’ artistic legacy, make it accessible, and pass it on to future generations.
With the support of leading orchestras and concert organizers, the extensive season “Fasten Seat Belts!” will launch in 2025–2026 (details at www.lucbrewaeys.com). The Flemish Government has also recognized the importance of Brewaeys’ oeuvre by supporting the digitization of his eight symphonies as a pilot project in heritage from the art world.
The Foundation now invites music lovers and patrons to make a difference by becoming a benefactor. By joining as a patron, supporters show their commitment to a unique musical heritage and share their passion for leading contemporary music alongside the Foundation, orchestras, and concert organizers. Benefactors are more closely involved in concerts, publications, and the exhibition.
With a contribution of €250, benefactors support the Foundation’s mission for 12 months. Larger donations are, of course, also warmly welcomed and deeply appreciated. Contributions can be made to BE75 0689 5001 0751, with confirmation of membership sent to laura.brewaeys@gmail.com (including name, phone number, billing details, and mention on the website).
