Born in Waspik (NL) in 1944. After Gymnasium he studied medicine and worked as a doctor for the Dutch Royal Airforce and as a general practitioner. The last years of his medical work was in the social security branch.
After being pensioned he focused on his hobby: Early Music. By singing with Adrián RodrÃguez Van der Spoel and self study he got familiar with White Mensural Notation, thus saving nearly-forgotten music from oblivion. He finds his sources in university libraries and the internet where numerous scans of early music are available.
