Donemus is happy to extend its special license, till now used by a number of Dutch conservatories and music libraries. This “library package” allows users to access the entire digital catalogue of Donemus, comprising of over 15.000 scores. The license enables students to create an account which, upon activating, gives them access to all scores in PDF format. In case of plans to perform a composition, the parts can be ordered in the usual way at Donemus.
The license gives access to several rich catalogues. The ‘Early Music’ series contains many works from Renaissance composers, freshly engraved from manuscripts. Thanks to meticulous engraving work by Cees Wagemakers, hundreds of vocal music works are now available to the wider public. Another invaluable catalogue is the ‘Forbidden Music Regained’ collection, thanks to a project done in collaboration with the Leo Smit Stichting, containing hundreds of scanned manuscripts from composers who had been persecuted during the Second World War. And of course, the main Donemus catalogue likewise contains seminal works by the most important Dutch composers, from De Fesch, Röntgen and Diepenbrock, to the latest additions of new compositions, trailblazing future developments.
Donemus is planning to extend this service to other conservatories and libraries. This is an excellent way for composers to have their scores promoted and trigger more interest from younger generations, who are the musicians of tomorrow.
