This October, Donemus is delighted to take part in the Donaueschinger Musiktage, the world’s oldest festival dedicated to contemporary music. Founded in 1921, the festival has long been a vital meeting point for new music enthusiasts, attracting around 10,000 visitors from more than 15 countries each year. The programme features premieres, sound installations, discussions, workshops, and performances by internationally renowned ensembles.
Representing Donemus at this year’s edition is our colleague Iva Micanovic, who will be on site to present Donemus at the score exhibition accompanying the celebration of 75 Years of SWR at Donaueschinger Musiktage on Friday October 17th at Donauhallen. At the exhibition, visitors will find the Donemus table featuring a wide selection of printed scores and publications — a unique opportunity to discover the richness of our catalogue and the breadth of contemporary music from the Netherlands and beyond.
We are especially proud that Anna Korsun’s work Vivrisses will be performed by the world-renowned Klangforum Wien during the festival on Sunday October 19th at Donauhallen. Korsun’s presence in the Donemus catalogue reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting innovative and boundary-pushing composers whose work resonates on the international stage.
In addition to showcasing our composers’ work, Donemus will also promote our CoCommissions Network, a new international platform designed to connect composers, publishers, orchestras, opera houses, agents, and private sponsors to facilitate co-commissioning of new works. We believe that with this platform, we can strengthen the creation and dissemination of new music and support both emerging and established composers, helping to ensure a sustainable future for the global contemporary music community.
With so many inspiring concerts lined up throughout the festival, we are looking forward to experiencing a wealth of new music and connecting with the vibrant community that continues to shape its future. We warmly invite all festival visitors to stop by the Donemus table, meet Iva, and discover the exciting new works and initiatives that we have in store.
