Donemus is proud to take part in the Orchestras Now! Conference, held this week at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, Poland. The theme of this year’s conference, Joining the Dots, focuses on the power of connections and storytelling in shaping a dynamic orchestral sector. With representatives from across the globe, the event offers an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and explore new ways of working together.
In line with this focus, our colleague Iva Micanovic is promoting the CoCommisssions Network, a growing initiative dedicated to supporting new music creation through international collaboration. By connecting publishers, festivals, artist managers, and orchestras, the network encourages joint commissioning projects, ensures that new works are performed more widely, and strengthens the role of contemporary music within the orchestral landscape.
Furthermore, attending the Orchestras Now! Conference is an important opportunity for Donemus to engage with current debates in the orchestral field. Sessions explore a variety of themes, ranging from innovative programming and audience development to the role of digital platforms and new approaches to creating impactful and sustainable orchestral releases. These conversations provide valuable insights that will help us further develop strategies to promote contemporary composers and to connect their music with orchestras and audiences worldwide.
