Donemus welcomes Monique Krüs

Donemus Publishing proudly announces the signing of composer Monique Krüs. The new collaboration marks a new chapter in Krüs’ career.

Monique Krüs is widely recognized for her distinctive voice as a composer, combining classical tradition with contemporary elements and a keen theatrical sense. With a background in both voice and composition, her works range from opera and chamber music to orchestral pieces and vocal repertoire. She is particularly acclaimed for her operas that often explore socially relevant themes with emotional depth and strong dramatic structure.

Donemus Publishing, known for its commitment to contemporary composers from the Netherlands and beyond, will manage the publication, promotion, and international distribution of Krüs’ compositions. Donemus will make her works more accessible to performers, ensembles, and organizations worldwide.

Monique Krüs:

A new chapter in my career as a composer: I have signed with Donemus, a household name for Dutch music in the Netherlands and internationally. Some team members I’ve known personally for quite some time, so it feels very familiar
to start working with them. Their recent initiative, CoCommmissions Network, which focuses on collaboration and co-producing, is exactly what I need as an opera composer. Looking forward to this adventure!

Davo van Peursen:

Monique Krüs has a unique identity with strong and personal compositions. She reaches a very international audience. Her topics are always relevant and connect to her listeners. We are very honoured to represent her work and contribute to its reach and impact.

The first batch of Krüs’ works is expected to be available through Donemus later this year, including some of her recent operas and chamber works. With this partnership, Krüs’ music will now be more widely performed, studied, and appreciated, reinforcing her place as a leading figure in Dutch contemporary music.
