Aftab Darvishi: Map of Freedom

Map of Freedom was composed by the very talented Iranian composer Aftab Darvishi. She composed this special piece for the freedom struggle of Iranian women. The piece premiered in August 2023 and can be heard for the first time in Amsterdam in September during Klassiek op het Amstelveld.

Aftab Darvishi: ”The new composition Map of Freedom is a tribute to the recent events in my country Iran and expresses a strong hope for a better future. This 21-minute piece unfolds in three interconnected parts, taking listeners on an emotional journey from darkness to hope, ultimately arriving at the theme of Freedom and Freedom. The text is by Houshang Ebtehaj. One of the greatest contemporary figures in Iranian literature.”
