Alexandre Rabinovitch-Barakovsky: Die Zeit
Two pieces by Alexandre Rabinovitch-Barakovsky – Die Zeit and Liebliches Lied – are on the program of the HortusFestival.
The HortusFestival 2025 presents concerts with a beautiful and unique story in stunning locations. Away from the large concert halls, nestled among the greenery, you’ll find the DoelenEnsemble.
The festival begins in Amsterdam, at the monumental Plantage Palace, and then travels to Utrecht and Rotterdam. Discover the city in a new way: in a magical, historic house!
The ensemble will perform a program that sheds new light on the classical piano trio. They begin with Julius Röntgen’s lyrical and romantic Piano Trio, Opus 50. Thanks to donors, the DoelenEnsemble owns Röntgen’s original grand piano, which will also be used for the concert.
We will then be introduced to the young French composer Camille Pépin, whose brand-new piano trio they will perform. After the intermission, the ensemble will be joined by a special celesta for the trio’s performance of Die Zeit by Alexandre Rabinovitch-Barakovsky. The enchanting sound of the celesta gives this finale an almost magical dimension.
