Benet Casablancas: Tríptic del Marquet

World premiere of the “Tríptic del Marquet” by Benet Casablancas on texts by the Catalan poet Josep-Ramon Bach for choir will be on July 26 in Palau de la Música de Barcelona.

The National Youth Choir of Catalonia (CJNC), made up of singers between the ages of 18 and 28, was founded with the aim of offering a top-level training opportunity to the country’s finest talents, under the direction of renowned national and international conductors. With over ten years of experience, it has become an ambassador of Catalan choral excellence.

The CJNC meets occasionally throughout the year, ensuring that it does not interfere with the choirs’ regular activities. For this summer’s meeting, which will culminate with this concert at the Petit Palau, the CJNC has invited Conxita Garcia, with whom she will perform a selection of opera choirs. In the second part, and under the direction of its principal conductor, Mireia Barrera, the CJNC will resume its work of promoting Catalan choral music with works by Casals, Ferrer i Fitó, Gasull, Casablancas, Brotons, and Guinovart. The CJNC is an initiative of the Catalan Choral Movement and Young Choirs of Catalonia, supported by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Barcelona Provincial Council, Barcelona City Council, and the Ramon Llull Institute.
