Benjamin de Murashkin: Three Romances
Three Romances by Clara Schumann in the orchestration by Benjamin de Murashkin on the program by Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra.
Join the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra on a symphonic river cruise through Schumann’s homeland, along the sparkling Rhine. Symphony No. 3, the Rhine Symphony, is a declaration of love for the idyllic landscapes where he experienced one of his happiest periods. Schumann master Andrew Manze leads us through this sunny time in Schumann’s life. Manze has also been appointed honorary conductor of the symphony orchestra – a title that both musicians and audiences agree he deserves, several times over.
Robert and Clara Schumann were united not only in life, but also in their creations. Clara Schumann’s Three Romances , here orchestrated by Benjamin de Murashkin, allows us to hear her music with new fervor. The work contains both heartfelt intimacy and melancholy – music that speaks directly to the heart.
