Bianca Bongers: Release Concert

Bianca Bongers will present her long awaited debut album ‘Surrounded by Air’, published at 7 Mountain Records, with LIVE performance of her work by Vincent van Amsterdam, the Belgian Kugoni Trio, Intercontinental Ensemble and German percussionist Fabian Otten. The concert will be accompanied by short interviews, as a dynamic way to learn more about the origin of the album.

“Surrounded by Air is a synopsis of her most important recent works. The program consists of eight pieces that are dedicated to and performed by four ensembles and four soloists respectively, including Bongers herself on cello. The young composer explores spatial dimensions, resulting from her deep desire to write music as if it were tactile and visible objects. The listener is presented with a luminous, enveloping sound experience in which extremes are not avoided in terms of playability of harmonic- and rhythmical structures. A radiant audio portrait of a gifted composer, performed and recorded with the same great care as she designed her music by top international musicians.” ~ 7 Mountain Records

Other performers that recorded Bianca’s music on this album are saxophonist Andreas Mader and the two German ensembles Trio Catch and Ensemble Adapter.
