Calliope Tsoupaki: A song for You

Revolts against the established order were a key factor in shaping modern Europe between the 16th and 18th centuries. Music itself was also subject to these powers (religious, monarchic, bourgeois) and reflected their influence. By the 20th century, the revolt was directed towards some of the conventions of music, by composers such as Ligeti. In this concert recorder player Lucie Horsch and harpsichord player Olga Pashchenko present a programme with a difference, featuring works by Telemann, Dutch composer Jakob van Eyck, Father Soler and Ligeti himself.

Program:

Jacob van Eyck: Der Fluyten Lust-Hof. Selection

A Singer’s Farewell Semi-staged performance with beautiful music from the Romantic period. There was a time when increasing age meant wisdom and respect. That is no longer self-evident.
