Ensemble Black Pencil has commissioned Calliope Tsoupaki and Yannis Kyriakides to write new works.
These commissions are part of the ensemble’s series ‘Muziek en natuur’, supported by the Province Flevoland and Performing Arts Fund NL.

The Phion Orchestra opens the season under the baton of chief conductor Alexei Ogrintchouk with two masterpieces from the classical repertoire. This year, Iranian composer Aftab Darvishi is composer in residence at Phion. Her performance is “Only Violets Remain,” a work commissioned by the orchestra several years ago.
