Calliope Tsoupaki: Perasma
Especially for this concert, Calliope Tsoupaki, until 2020 the Composer Laureate, has written a new commissioned work ‘Perasma’ for the Residentie Orkest; tonight is the world premiere. “A Greek word with many meanings, one of them is the passing of a moment, of a period, of life. Everything moves away from us, a bad moment gives way to a new beginning… To give us a life experience, I play with time. I use techniques to make a short piece of music sound and feel longer and vice versa.
