Calliope Tsoupaki: Vesper

Project choir Gabriel Fauré will give two concerts on 2 and 4 June, which are also the farewell concerts. There is also a special program this time, including a new piece by Bart Visman, which he wrote for the occasion on behalf of the choir: ‘Love song’.

In addition, the also contemporary Vesper by Calliope Tsoupaki, a number of unknown choral works by Schubert, the Litanies à la virgin noire by Francis Poulenc and finally five liturgical hymns by Tchaikovsky.

Project choir Gabriel Fauré was founded 15 years ago by Monique Suring and a few enthusiastic people and in 2010 gave two concerts with orchestra. The program features works by Gabriel Fauré, with the Requiem as the highlight. This left a taste for more, the choir continued to exist and in varying line-up, but with a solid core of singers, nine more projects followed, often with rarely performed choral music.
