Chiel Meijering: Caixa de dolços / Candy Box
In this concert we present a combination of strings and wind instruments; the Dutch Youth String Orchestra plays with a talented Belgian trumpeter and an Ukrainian top saxophonist. The program is very varied, from classical works by Mozart and Mahler to passionate tangos by Piazolla, Molinelli and the Amsterdam composer Chiel Meijering.
The NJSO recently won first prize at the Summa Cum Laude Competition in Vienna. The Netherlands can be proud of this youth string orchestra!
