MASTER SINGER FRITZ WUNDERLICH’S immortal recording of Schumann’s Dichterliebe has become something of a litmus test for tenors throughout history. But how about giving the song cycle back to the female voice, for which the songs were actually originally written? And what happens when you use the entire orchestra’s sound palette? Henrik Hellstenius’ vision has resulted in a version specially produced for HSO. It ties the heartbreaking songs together into a whole orchestral suite with the brilliant soprano Tora Augestad as interpreter.
