Daan Manneke: De Grote Citadel

Ralph van Raat plays on Simeon ten Holt’s grand piano and in the house where he lived until his death in 2012. ‘Atelier Simeon’ is the unique opportunity to listen to piano music in an intimate setting in the composer’s house, played on the grand piano on which so much music originated from his hands and thoughts.

“One of the most beautiful major cycles of the last fifty and sixty years,” says Ralph van Raat about the work De Grote Citadel by the Zeeland composer Daan Manneke, which he will perform. Van Raat, perhaps the Netherlands’ most important promoter of contemporary music, has been a guest at Kunstgetij concerts on several occasions and managed to get visitors on the edge of their seats.
