David Mastikosa: Seasons

Dušan V. Urošević, artistic director and conductor of SO NPRS:

It is with great pleasure that we perform and nurture domestic musical creativity at the concert through the works of Tatjana Milošević Mijanović and David Mastikosa.

Doctor of Arts David Mastikosa is a composer of the younger generation employed at the UNIBL Academy of Arts as a senior assistant. The composition Seasons for flute and string orchestra was created in 2014, and it was premiered by Ana Batinica and the Zagreb soloists in the “Vatroslav Lisinski” Concert Hall in Zagreb. After nine years, the Polish clarinetist Piotr Lato expresses a great desire and interest to include certain movements from this cycle in his repertoire, after which a new revised version for clarinet and strings is created. During this process, movements I–III were rearranged, which caused the same movements to receive a new outfit that the audience will be able to hear at this concert.

Program:

Antonio Vivaldi (1678−1741): Concert no. 4 in E-flat minor, Op. 8, Winter from the Four Seasons

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685−1750):  Aria from the Matthew Passion – Erbarme dich, mein Gott

T. Milošević-Mijanović (1970): Towards the Stars , for accordion and strings
