Deborah de Graaf: The Leaves / Echoes of a contemporary world / Temporary contemplating
Deborah de Graaf is a young Dutch composer from Winschoten. She explores new directions in line with the modernists, but with her own distinct approach. She studied at Academie Minerva in Groningen and is currently completing her degree in Composition & Music Production at the Prince Claus Conservatoire. Deborah has already written for the North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra (NNO) and has participated in festivals such as November Music.
Kamerorkest van het Noorden is based in Groningen and is led by cellist Teodora Nedyalkova. The orchestra consists of string players and is currently expanded with woodwinds, brass, and percussion. These fifteen musicians usually perform without a conductor, allowing them to interact and play together like members of a string quartet.
