Diderik Wagenaar: Fiorellini Musicali
The last Friday of February, Rutger Jansen is a guest in the PianoSalon. He opens this with Piano Sonata No. 4 from 1955 by the Polish composer Mieczysław Weinberg, for whom the Shostakovich school was fundamental in his artistic work.
Rutger then plays parts from Fiorellini Musicali by the Dutch composer Diderik Wagenaar. These eight miniatures are arranged according to the colors of the rainbow, with a nod to Girolamo Frescobaldi. In 1635 he wrote his Fiori Musicali, a collection of arrangements of mass movements, toccatas, fantasies and ricercares. Every particle as colorful as a flower!
HaagsPianoHuis opens its doors every last Friday of the month with the PianoSalon. Ring in the weekend with the sounds of recently graduated pianists and get to know them better during drinks after the concert! HaagsPianoHuis, the unique concert location on Noordeinde, gives young professional musicians a stage to present their own programs. The inspiring Steinway & Sons D-274 concert grand piano in an intimate hall makes this a unique experience. These passionate musicians will surprise you with their playing and also explain their choice of program.
