Dmitri Kourliandski: Possible places. BIS
World premiere of ‘Possible places. BIS’ by Dmitri Kourliandski performed by Syntax Ensemble (Italy).
Possible places. BIS is a chamber version of a work for solo violin and large ensemble written by Dmitri Kourliandski for the SWR Orchestra and Patricia Kopatchinskaya. The theme of the piece was the idea of the impossibility of finding a permanent place (in life, on earth, or a point of inner stability) – a “possible place” is a place that does not exist or exists only in hope, that is always slipping away.
