Douwe Eisenga: For Mattia

In this diptych you will hear minimal music from American and Dutch soil. Philip Glass’s music runs like a thread through Meijer’s career. Glass wrote music for the now cult horror film Candyman in the 1990s. The Suite from Candyman, specially adapted by Meijer and Deutekom, is among the creepiest music Glass ever wrote. Douwe Eisenga has a special status in minimal music and broke through quickly with his hit For Mattia. During this concert you will hear how For Mattia sounds on the harp and also music that Douwe Eisenga wrote especially for Meijer and Deutekom.
