Federico Favali: Composer’s Portrait

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Chamber works by Italian composer and musicologist Federico Favali are to hear in a Composer’s Portrait Concert on November 16th in New York’s Spectrum.

‘The Pinnacle Desert is an astonishing desert approximately 200 kilometers north of Perth, Western Australia. Visiting the place last year, I gazed at the unity and the variety of the place, I also focused my attention on the chromaticism of the colors. I saw the sand of the desert as a representation of the time. From the sand I could see pinnacles coming out, and I saw them as the pieces of music I’ve written until now and the ones I will write in the future.’ (Federico Favali)
