Frans Bouwman: Mahler’s 10th Symphony (version for 2 pianos)

Mahler’s 10th Symphony is surrounded by stories and despite the fact that he wrote this impressive work with the last of his life energy, it was not completely finished. Various great composers such as Schoenberg subsequently tried to complete it. It took 52 years before the first playable version was available. The version we hear in the HortusFestival (F. Bouwman) is notated as accurately as possible for 2 pianos. The performers, piano duo Ralph van Raat and Maarten van Veen, have now recorded various large orchestral works for 2 pianos on various labels.

  • Composer(s) Frans Bouwman
  • Title(s) of the Work(s)
