Frédéric Devreese: Benvenuta Suite – Tango

On Wednesday 20 July at 8 pm, the festivities surrounding the Belgium National Day will start with a free concert. The American violinist Stella Chen, First Laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition for Violin 2019, will perform together with the Belgian National Orchestra  in the Henry Le Boeuf Hall of the Palace of Fine Arts in Brussels. His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen will attend the concert.

The Belgian National Orchestra presents a varied program and, as usual, puts a Belgian composer in the spotlight, this year Frédéric Devreese. The concert begins with his Tango from Benvenuta suite, followed by Erich Korngold’s Violin Concerto, performed by Stella Chen. The evening will be concluded with Iberia  by Claude Debussy.

The concert will be broadcasted live on the evening itself on Klara en on Thursday 21 July at 2 pm on Een en on vrt.nu. After that, the concert will remain available on vrt.nu for a month.
