STORIES FROM AMSTERDAM

Amateur orchestra Plantage Kamer Orkest will play pieces that all have a connection with the beautiful city of Amsterdam in one way or another. There is on program a Renaissance piece by the world-famous Amsterdammer Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, but also a piece by the relatively unknown Hungarian Dutchman Géza Frid, who fled to Amsterdam in the 1930s. And yes, the great – then still small – Mozart also had a connection with Amsterdam and will not be missing from the new program.

And then there is also singing: a beautiful song by Henriëtte Bosmans sung by Elizaveta Agravenina.

Program:

Henriëtte Bosmans – Lead, Kindly Light

Claude Debussy – Petite Suite

Géza Frid – Rhythmic Studies

W.A. Mozart – Symphony No. 5
