Henriette Bosmans & Rosy Wertheim
This concert dedicated to female composers – Fear and Faith: Women’s Voices of the Second World War will be held on March 9 at 8 p.m. in the large hall of the Kolarč Endowment in Belgrade. Fear and Faith: Women’s Voices of World War II? What is the price of freedom? What is a man ready for when he is facing death? Is art the only hope and solution? What has changed since the end of World War II 80 years ago? Discover the answers to these questions at the show Fear and Faith, where our famous soprano Marija Jelić and pianist Nelson Kalci of the Milan Scale will perform. Get to know the mysterious lives of Henriette Bosmans, Rosy Wertheim, Else Barraine, Julia Weissberg and Ilse Weber through a one-hour journey through the melodies of songs by female composers who were imprisoned in camps or hid in ghettos. The stage spectacle will be accompanied by the touching story of their hopes, desires and mission that kept them alive, through an interesting scenography in the form of candles and carefully selected projections. With a renowned team that, in addition to artists, includes playwright Paolo Ornati and musicologist Julia Broido, you will leave the concert with a new energy and answers that will cause strong impressions.
