Herman Strategier: Sonatine for orchestra

Sonatine for orchestra was written by Herman Strategier specially for the 100 anniversary which Philharmonisch Orkest Mozart celebrated in 1978. And now the orchestra will turn 145 and one can expect that exciting piece by Strategier on the program. Philharmonisch Orkest Mozart is the oldest orchestra of Amsterdam, it was founded in 1878.

General Herman Strategier, the son of the organist at St. Walburga Church, was born on August 10, 1912 in Arnhem. Because of the battle of Arnhem in 1944, Herman Strategier and his family were forced to leave the city. They found shelter with his friend Jan Mul in Haarlem.
