Idin Samimi Mofakham: Barzakh (Four channel fixed media)
In the Islamic tradition, “Barzakh” represents a metaphysical realm that serves as a demarcation between the world of the living and the afterlife. It is the intermediate stage that people pass through between their earthly death and their final resurrection in “the “hereafter”.
A barzakh-like state unfolds in the hearts of those who stand on the edge of anticipation, where peace, the end of revolution, freedom from imprisonment, lament, the shadow of depression or the grip of disease dwell a realm between hope and transformation. Their resilience is reminiscent of the souls in purgatory who strive for growth in their trials. These individuals walk the path to a brighter future where their experiences are transformed into sources of strength and inspiration that lead them to healing and belonging.
