Idin Samimi-Mofakham: Lead.Asphalt.Blood

“Etterklang av POING” is the ensemble’s traditional concert series in Emanuel Vigeland’s Mausoleum, where the senses are sharpened and the experience of the music is enhanced by the powerful sound in the room.

Program:

Jonas Lie Skaarud: That was to be of a like monotony (2022)

Idin Samimi Mofakham: Lead.Asphalt.Blood (2024) Premiere

Sergej Rachmaninov: Vespers, Op. 37: VI. Bogoroditse Devo

In the work of Jonas Skaarud, he tries to “fragile” tonal music (in this case Bach chorales) and let the music be “disturbed” by microtonal rubs and noise effects, using multiphones, flageolets and scordatura (he allows 3 different tunings to collide) .

Idin Samimi Mofakham writes music that he describes as sonic reflections on socio-political events in the world we live in. Idin is an Iranian composer and activist who lives in Norway. At the same time, he works for the promotion of contemporary music and music education in his home country.
