Jan-Peter de Graaff: Stalagmieten Samba

On Friday, July 12, Neo-fanfare 9×13 will open Festival Hungry Wolf for the second time. This time with the premiere of the liberating music performance “New Babylon”. The Sheep Field in Hungry Wolf is transformed into a playground full of imagination. Where the view extends to the horizon and the Wadden Sea whispers, 9×13 escapes the urban hustle and bustle and takes you on a journey far from the hectic pace of everyday life.

Get rid of the stress of personal development and the jungle of management terms! 9×13 invites the audience to lounge around, chat and muse – just because it’s fun. A refreshing counterpoint in a world where overstimulation is the norm and young people become entangled in a digital maze. “New Babylon” is a welcome escape from the neoliberal rat race.

In Hungry Wolf, a vast and remote area, where burnouts are only a faint echo and natural tranquility nourishes creativity, 9×13 focuses on the person playing. The fanfare rediscovers itself, inspired by philosophers such as Schiller and Huizinga. A playful music performance that fits seamlessly into the peaceful environment of Hungry Wolf, where the mind can wander without distraction.
