Birthday- and CD-presentation concert for Dutch composer Jan Vriend. Ralph van Raat and Maarten van Veen perform his newest piano duo composition, ‘Event Horizon’, and the DoelenEnsemble plays further ensemble works.

Wassim Ibrahim: Salat- Al Amal Prayer of Hope

I composed this piece , It is written for a string trio with a rhythm that is both dance-like and deeply spiritual. The musical language draws on the mystical tones of chants from both churches and mosques in Damascus—echoes of Aramaic hymns and Islamic prayers.
