Jannum Kruidhof: De horizon voorbij
This July, the acclaimed musical duo Manja Kruidhof-Okkerse (violin) and Hans Okkerse (organ and piano) will present two special summer concerts in the Netherlands. A central highlight of both programs is the music of contemporary composer Jannum Kruidhof, featuring his evocative work De Horizon Voorbij (‘Beyond the Horizon”). Audiences will have a unique opportunity to experience this captivating piece in two distinctly different musical arrangements. Jannum Kruidhof is recognized for writing deeply atmospheric, expressive contemporary classical music. His piece De Horizon Voorbij (Opus 59) takes the listener on an emotional and cinematic journey, exploring themes of distance, transition, and looking toward the unknown. Hearing the piece first on the piano (July 2nd) and later on the majestic church organ (July 25th) allows music lovers to experience how a single composition can transform through different instrumental colors.
