Jo Sporck: Distance
Requiem in Koningshoeven
For this edition f the Requiem concert, Jo Sporck had written Distance, a spatial work for double choir, two soloists and cornetto. The piece is looking for consolation in times of ecological and political crises. It combines text from Oekranian and Russian newspapers with text from Seneca, dealing with solace, power and loss, but also peace.
Jo Sporck has been in Oekraine and Russia many times and his work has been performed there often.
Furthermore, works by Matijs de Roo, Adriaen Willaert and Hugo Distler will guarantee an interesting and moving concert.
