Jobina Tinnemans: Seven Sisters/Salome

On Sunday, February 1, 2026, pianist Fidan Aghayeva-Edler will perform Jobina Tinnemans’ ‘Seven Sisters’ (2021) and Salomé (2019) at The Hague International Sound Art Festival, within a 3-hours long ‘Women Composers Piano Marathon’.

Running from January 30 to February 1, this year’s festival centers on the theme “Activism and Performance: Speaking Out Freely.”

With human rights, inclusion, and LGBTQIA+ freedoms under pressure globally, many artists—ranging from free jazz and radio art to contemporary electro-acoustic music—are using their craft to take a stand. This third edition of the festival highlights their work, celebrating the vital role of activism in art and the fundamental right to live and create in freedom.

The festival finds its home at the LOOS Foundation and Zaal 3, two powerhouses of experimentation. By blending traditional instruments with cutting-edge tech, LOOS remains a pioneer in the field, while Zaal 3 provides a vibrant stage for emerging talent and cross-disciplinary performance. Together, they create the perfect environment for artists to push boundaries and enrich The Hague’s cultural landscape.
