Joey Roukens: Public Rehearsal of Requiem

Meaningful new work by Joey Roukens about death and farewell.

Public rehearsal for the new work Requiem by the Dutch composer Joey Roukens. Requiem is a commission from the Muziekgebouw with the support of Ammodo and November Music.

Roukens reaches a large audience with his eclectic music. His Requiem is an intimate and serene work for chamber choir, string orchestra and percussion. In addition to parts from the traditional liturgy, Roukens also uses modern secular poetry about death and farewell. Because a requiem has meaning for everyone.

The commissioned work Requiem will have its world premiere on Thursday 3 November at 8.15 pm during the concert by the Nederlands Kamerkoor + Amsterdam Sinfonietta conducted by Sofi Jeannin. During the introduction at 19:15 on Foyerdeck 1, Frederike Berntsen will talk to Joey Roukens.
