Camiel Boomsma is praised by the press and the public for his remarkable maturity, his exceptionally beautiful sound and personal touch. He has performed in the most important Dutch concert halls (including the Concertgebouw and the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam) and he has played on many prestigious international stages such as Schloss Elmau, Teatro la Fenice in Venice and St John’s Smith Square in London. One of his albums, ‘Musings’ from 2017 (Challenge Records International), with poetic and romantic repertoire by Chopin and Schubert, was compared in the press with recordings by Radu Lupu and Marc-André Hamelin. De Volkskrant wrote: “There is velvet on Boomsma’s fingers.” In 2021, Boomsma’s book ‘Letters to the Masters’ (Uitgeverij IJzer) was published, following which NRC Handelsblad published a major interview with him.
