Johannes van Bree: Concert-ouverture

Eurythmia Orchestra is a talent donation orchestra and music venue comprised of Korean doctors. It donates the proceeds from each concert to the socially underprivileged and practices sharing through music.

The “European Premiere (European Korean Premiere Series)” planned for the first half of 2025 is a project to discover hidden gems of European composers and premiere them in Korea. It was planned with the purpose of sharing masterpieces that are not well known in Korea with members, audiences, and Korean classical music lovers and widely publicizing their value.

Next to the Concert-ouverture by Johannes van Bree the music by Gustav Mahler and Kurt Atterberg are on the program.

General Johannes Bernardus van Bree was the dominant figure in Amsterdam musical life, particularly as a conductor, from 1830 to 1855. He was born in Amsterdam on January 29, 1801 and died on February 14, 1854. Education His father, Frans van Bree, a music teacher, gave him his first violin lessons.
