John Borstlap by Hong Kong Philharmonic with Jaap van Zweden

The magical stillness that opens Mahler’s First Symphony could be the dawn of the world itself. But it’s certainly the start of a truly epic musical adventure with Hong Kong Philharmonics Music Director Jaap van Zweden. First, though, HK Phil Concertmaster Jing Wang steps into the spotlight for a world first: a new violin concerto by John Borstlap, a composer who believes that good tunes never go out of fashion.
