Julius Röntgen: Cello Concerto nr. 3
Arthur Japin, one of the most read writers in the Netherlands, is the artistic center of this concert. His novels are consistently high on the bestseller lists and he has won prizes for them such as the Libris Literature Prize and the NS Audience Award.
Music plays an important role in many of Japin’s books. In this literary-musical evening he talks about this and the orchestra plays his favorite fragments. After the break, Stravinsky’s ballet Petrushka takes center stage. Phion is led by Kerem Hasan, the young British conductor who has previously been a successful guest with Phion.
