Karel Goeyvaerts: Litanie II, The Song of Aquarius

Karel Goeyvaerts is ‘The Man Who Inspired Stockhausen’, as the headline of Humo once read. All the same, his is a less familiar name today that we might hope. It’s time to put this Flemish pioneer back in the spotlight. All the more because 2023 is the hundredth anniversary of his birth. I SOLISTI perform his Litanie II for three percussionists and The Song of Aquarius for no fewer than eight (!) bass clarinets. There is also attention to the impact Goeyvaerts’ music still has on the younger generation. Discover Benjamin Van Esser’s new composition R Aquarii at Lunalia Lift Off.
