Kourliandski, Kurbatov, Desyatnikov in ‘Who am I?’
Stichting “Music for Peace” in collaboration with FreeRussiaNL and LetterenFonds present:
Cultural event “Who am I?” will try to answer such questions as “how it became possible what is going on in Ukraine now? Why do Russians behave like that? Why could Russians do nothing about Putin? Do all the Russians agree and think alike? What is their type of thinking?”
These and other questions will be asked to the experts that will join the evening:

– video exhibition
Tasya Krougovykh and Vasiliy Bogatov are the curators of the video art exhibition that will be shown in de Waalse Kerk. They are the videographers, who filmed scandalous group “Pussy Riot” for many years and worked in “Memorial” (organization that was studying the archive information about Soviet repressions, got the Nobel prize and was annulated recently in Russia) provide us with videos of political prisoners in Russia, activists and people, who are against the war. Also, there is a video with the Memorial annulation.
The sound of Ukraine today – is the sound of generators that are fully on. The organizers will purchase a generator which will project the QR code for help in Ukraine. The generator will be send to Ukraine after the event.
Conceptual art performance:
Andrei Kuzkin, conceptual artist, will present his graphic work “The time of War”, a project that has been going on since the war started. Kuzkin writes by hand “Stop the war” in four languages – Ukrainian, Russian, French and English on the large papers and now it is about 50 pages that will be presented in the church. He will also ask the audience to write it in their language and he will sit and write it live during the event.
Texts: court speeches of political prisoners (Navalny, Yashin, Skochilenko, Gutnikova and others)
Music, chosen for these events will also show and answer some of these questions. Most of the repertoire that will be presented is written during the last year. It is all written by Ukrainian composers or Russians, who had to flee after the war started.
